“House Aretoli” named a Chaucer Book Award finalist

I’m delighted to announce that House Aretoli has been named as a 2023 Chaucer Book Award Finalist. The Chaucer Book Award, offered by Chanticleer Book Reviews, acknowledges outstanding new historical fiction set before 1750.

Reaching the finalist stage means that House Aretoli has been reviewed by two different sets of judges and progressed through four stages of the contest. House Aretoli is now eligible to be named as the contest winner.

Taking place in 14th-century Venice, House Aretoli is the story of Niccolo Aretili, a young Venetian senator who uncovers a conspiracy that strikes at the heart of both his republic and his family. Isolated and betrayed, Niccolo must defend those he loves from threats both beyond and within his family before they, the woman he loves, and Venice itself is destroyed.
